"Path less Travelled" Southern Tanzania Safari

elephant cross a water estuary in the depths of the Selous now known as Nyerere National Park

Flying Bush Safaris

This Safari Itinerary involves Flying on Domestic Flights to and from two spectacular and remote National Parks in Southern Tanzania. You will be in great hands as you visit and explore Nyerere National Park (formerly known as The Selous Game Reserve) and The Ruaha  which is one of the largest National Parks in Africa ... and possibly in the world. The Selous Game Reserve, now renamed as Nyerere National Park (in-part), is a protected nature reserve and wilderness area in southern Tanzania, East Africa. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982, owing to its high levels of biodiversity, vast, undisturbed landscapes, such as the grasslands and the miombo woodlands habitat.

Ruaha National Park is the largest protected area in Tanzania and East Africa,  covering an area of 20,226km², Ruaha derives its name from the Great Ruaha River which flows through the south -eastern section of the park and attracts a broad range of flora and fauna, including large herds of elephants and lion prides as well as an abundance of antelope and other species.

Sleep to the sound distant lion pride members communicating with each other across long distances or elephants thrashing about in the nearby swamps and rivers

Accommodation in Nyerere and Ruaha National Parks range from excellent standards to luxury accommodation.
